Register for MSA 685 after meeting prerequisites
Students must have completed all required MSA core courses (MSA 600, 634 or 635, 640) and a minimum of 21 credit hours in the degree program prior to registering for the MSA 685 class. You will not be allowed to register for MSA 685 if the prerequisites have not been met.

Timely registration helps in scheduling
Timely registration is very important. High demand classes may close early. When you plan your course schedules, look for needed concentration courses and take them when offered. Core courses are offered more regularly because they are the administrative, top-level management foundation courses for your degree. Failure to register on time or to take concentration courses when offered may impede your anticipated date for completing your degree.

Graduate certificates offer alternatives
You can receive a graduate certificate in any one of our MSA concentrations. The 15-18 credit hour program for graduate students offers advanced training in the concentration. Credits earned in the certificate program may be applied toward the MSA degree at a later date, but within the 7-year rule limit. For more information contact your program administrator.

Assessment tests for core courses available
Students who have not had the prerequisite courses (Algebra, Statistics, Accounting, Economics) for designated core courses within the last three years will need to take an assessment test prior to enrollment. Call your program administrator for information about study guides and about taking the test(s). There is no charge for the test(s).

ABI Inform business database finds a new home
ABI Inform, the business database used by most of our MSA students, is now available separately on the Off-Campus Library Services home page at: http://ocls.cmich.edu/researchdbsindex.htm

Once on the database page, click on the link to ABI Inform. There is also a help link that answers some of the more common questions on using this database. Those familiar with ABI Inform had to go through Firstsearch to gain access. By going to our list of research databases, students can now access this database separately. While the format of the database has changed, it still provides articles from over 1,800 scholarly business journals and magazines.
