Access information
Civilian students requiring a day pass to gain access to Fort Mead must check-in at the gate, provide photo ID, driver’s license, vehicle registration, proof of insurance and have their vehicle searched.

For a course semester pass, civilian students and faculty will need to provide the CMU Fort Meade program administrator with their date of birth, driver’s license number and state of issue two weeks prior to the first class meeting date. This information will be given to the provost marshal’s office in order to do background checks.

To obtain a semester pass, civilians must check-in at the Visitor’s Control Center, located on Reece Road, on the first day of their scheduled course or the day before the course is to begin during the VCC hours or operation – hours are limited and are listed below. VCC must be presented with a photo ID driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance so that a post pass can be issued for the duration of the course. The VCC will have a list of the CMU students and faculty needing passes.
