CMU and T3™ Professional Development
for District-Based T3™ Outreach Program
Looking for a way to offer graduate credit for your district’s
professional development? Central Michigan University (CMU) provides a
way by working with school districts and regional educational service
areas to make application for teachers to earn one of two semester hours
of credit.
Benefits to Your District
- Teachers can earn 1 or 2 semester hours of graduate credit from
a regionally accredited university (CMU)
- Educators can use the credit to meet professional certificate
renewal requirements and/or step advancement
- Classroom experiences are enriched through the power of
visualization
- Handhelds and related technology enables teachers to be
successful in increasing student achievement
- Teachers learn ways to assist students to develop critical
thinking and analytical skills
- CMU offers a 50% revenue sharing component with the school
system to offset PD expenses
District Requirements for CMU Graduate
Credit and Instructor Criteria

CMU instructional standards and rubrics must be
integrated in district syllabi
- TI material needs to be the framework by which district courses
are designed
- Syllabi must contain either Math or Science content
- Instructors must be TI certified and hold a minimum of an MA Degree in the
related content area

To apply
Here’s how to apply for CMU Graduate Credit for a District-Based T3™Outreach
Program Course:
1. Complete an
interest form on the Texas Instruments Web
site.
2. Apply to CMU for the credit option after you have been contacted by
TI
- Assign a district facilitator to coordinate credit with CMU
- Complete Course
Submittal Form
- Request TI instructor complete
district-designed syllabus
incorporating CMU standards and rubrics and submit to CMU via
Sharon Horgan
- Request TI instructor to submit a resume and a copy of a
transcript showing proof of MA and other advanced degrees to CMU
via Sharon Horgan
- CMU will work with district facilitator to admit and register teachers
for graduate credit upon academic review and approval of district
syllabus and instructor credentials
