Commencement Ceremony Information
All students who apply for graduation and receive a graduation invitation by
e-mail are eligible to participate in the Mount Pleasant campus commencement
ceremony. Diplomas are not distributed during the graduation ceremonies.
Students who are eligible receive their diplomas, transcripts and commencement
ceremony program by mail without additional notification.
Specific schedule information for the Mount Pleasant commencement ceremonies
will be sent to you through your cmich. e-mail account approximately one month
prior to the ceremony.
Please contact your Program Administrator if you would like information about the graduation recognition ceremonies at
your local program center.
Commencement Ceremony Instructions
Commencement is divided by degrees in the ceremonies as listed below.
Graduates must attend the ceremony in which their degree is listed. Commencement ceremony instructions
are not yet available.

Commencement Ceremony Parking

Commencement Tickets
Each graduate participating in the
commencement ceremony receives six tickets which admit guests to the Events
Center. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets must be picked
up in person.
Dates, times, and location to pick up tickets will be included in the
commencement ceremony instructions (when available). You still need to pick up your tickets if you preordered your
apparel. Tickets will not be mailed. No additional tickets are available.
Graduation Apparel
Information regarding graduation apparel will be included
in the commencement ceremony instructions (when available).
Off-Campus & Online Programs Graduation Reception
CMU Off-Campus & Online Programs will be hosting a reception honoring Off-Campus
& Online Programs graduates and their guests. The reception will include a brief
welcome and remarks from Dr. Merodie A. Hancock, Vice President of Off-Campus &
Online Programs. Hors d'oeuvres, soft drinks and coffee will be provided. Cash
bar available.

Commencement Brunch
Central Michigan University will be hosting a brunch for all CMU graduates
on Saturday, May 5, 2012. Additional information will be available approximately
one month prior to graduation.
Diploma Plaque
CMU Off-Campus & Online Programs offers a cherry finished hard wood plaque with a
Plexiglas cover to display your diploma. Central Michigan University is carved
into the wood to create a professional display of the culmination of all your
hard work. The plaque costs $20 and can be ordered by using the
order form.
