Professional Development: Tuition Rates, Withdrawals and Grades

IMPORTANT NOTICE-Read before registering for graduation credit!

Depending on your state's requirements, you may be able to use the CMU credit for professional development programs to meet certificate renewal or state continuing education requirements. Since acceptance varies by state, educators should contact their state's Department of Education to verify the course will count toward licensure/certificate renewal before enrolling for credit. If you wish to apply the credit toward an advanced degree, consult with your academic advisor to verify the course will apply to your program.

Your Global ID

All currently enrolled students have been assigned a global ID. New students will be assigned a global ID upon admission. The CMU student ID number and global ID will become your lifeline to
CMU, as you will need them to register for courses and access your grades online!

Set up your Global ID

Log on to https://myaccount.cmich.edu and follow the prompts to set up your global id and password. As a new student you have 30 days to set up your global id and password. If you have previously taken classes, or if 30 days have passed since you first registered, a password has been automatically set up for you. Please contact the CMU Help Desk at (800) 950-1144, ext. 3662, or via e-mail at helpdesk@cmich.edu to find out your password and have it reset.

Withdrawals and/or refunds

Requests for withdrawals and/or refunds for site-based classes must be submitted in writing to Central Michigan University, E&PD, Off-Campus Programs, 802 Industrial Drive, Mount Pleasant, MI 48858. The effective date of withdrawal will be the day the request is received in our office. Please include in your letter the course title, location, instructor, and how many sessions you attended. You may also fax requests for withdrawals/refunds to (989) 774-1188.

Grades

After your course ends, you may access your grades on the CMU Student Portal at http://cmich.edu/portal/portal_welcome.asp. You will log in with your global id and password. CMU does not mail grades to students. The CMU Student Portal allows you to print a copy of your grades. To obtain your grades:

  1. Log in to https://portal.cmich.edu.
  2. Click on Academics.
  3. Under My Records and Registration, click on My Grades.
  4. Select the academic year (CMU’s academic year runs Fall – Summer).
  5. Select the term: Spring, Summer or Fall.
  6. Select your level: Graduate or Undergraduate.

For your convenience, the CMU Student Portal can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Family Rights and Privacy Act does not allow us to release a student’s grade to a third party without a written request.

Incomplete/deferred grades

In the event you are unable to complete requirements for a course and you receive an incomplete or deferred grade, your instructor will need to complete a Statement of Requirements for Removal of Incomplete or Deferred Grades. This form will outline the requirements and timeframe for you to complete the course work and obtain a grade. The University Incomplete Grade Policy states that an incomplete grade not removed within one year shall become the student’s final grade.

If you have questions or need assistance in the admission or registration process, please call (800) 950-1144, ext. 3718.
