Lake Michigan beckons to be discovered. Our voyage introduces us to the
abundant natural wonders of the Great Lakes that, for centuries, have drawn
people for labor and leisure. We gain an appreciation for the complex system
of lighthouses that make navigating Lake Michigan possible, the ever-changing
coastal sand dunes, and the magnificent freighters that cross the lake as we
travel on part of the largest freshwater system in the world. We traverse
locks and explore islands and shore communities steeped in maritime history,
all the while experiencing the magic and lore of the Great Lakes.
Arrivals Chicago, Illinois, independent transfer to vessel, 7 nights (ports
of call: Holland, Manistee, Beaver Island, St. Mary’s River, Soo Locks, Sault
St. Marie, Mackinac Island, Michigan, and Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin); disembark
Chicago; departures.
