Jeffrey F. Addicott, CMU adjunct faculty
had his book, "Winning the War on Terror" published by Lawyers &
Judges Publishing Company, Inc.
John Kenneth Amato, CMU adjunct faculty
presented new research on resume writing and the interview process to
students from Kappa Delta Pi education honor society at Monmouth
University in early March. He will also present two interactive
workshops on middle schools at Brookdale Community College later in the
month. Areas to be covered include adolescent childhood development,
gifted and talented identification and areas of emotional, physical,
social and psychological development.
Janice Babcock, CMU adjunct faculty will
present "Roadmap to Minimize Laboratory and Medical Injury" and
"Strategies to Prevent Patient Injury from Laboratory Error Should Focus
on Pre- and Post-analytic Human Factors," at the International
Federation of Biomedical Laboratory Science (formerly International
Association of Medical Laboratory Technologists) held in Stockholm,
Sweden in June. Her publications include: "Infrastructure for
Effective Practices" testimony printed paper at the second National
Summit on Patient Safety Research in November; "Crossing the
Boundaries for Patient Safety: Working Across Departments and
Facilities," with Lt. Col. Adolphe Edward, USAF, Y.C. Parris, Scott
R. Isaacks, Donald Cox, Jimmie Davis and Christine Heckemeyer.
Thomas M. Box, CMU adjunct faculty has
had two recent publications presented at the Allied Academies
International Conference in Las Vegas, NV. Six Sigma and the U.S.
Army: a Potential for Excellence, co-authored with Wellman,
R.; and JetBlue: A New Challenger co-authored with Saxton, S.
Belmont F. Haydel, CMU adjunct faculty
has published a book, A Rendezvous with my Professional
Destiny: Making a Difference through Xlibris.
Brenda Kallio, CMU adjunct faculty has
had an article, "School Administrators and Ethical Decision Making in
Rural Communities," published in The Rural Education,
fall, 2003, vol. 25 #1.
William H. Marsh, CMU adjunct
faculty has had a book, Discovering Statistics, second
edition, published by Hawkes Publishing, Charleston, S.C.
Patricia Matusky, CMU adjunct faculty
recently had a book, The Music of Malaysia – The Classical, Fold and
Syncretic Traditions co-authored with Tan Sooi Beng, and published
by Ashgate Publishers, Ltd., for the University of London, School of
Oriental and African Studies musicology series, Jan. 2004. She
also presented at the 37th World Conference of the International Council
for Traditional Music, at Fuzhou and Quanzhou, China, in January. The
presentation, "Beats, Pulses and Impulses: Colotomic Unites as
Markers and Points of Negotiation for Musicians and Dancers in
Traditional Malaysian Music and Dance Performance," was given with
Professor Mohamad Mohd Anis and lecturer Suentra Fernado of the Arts
Center, University of Malay, Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia.
Leonidas Muremby, CMU adjunct faculty has
recently completed two studies in economics for the Community
Development Research Corporation: "Economic Profile of Calhoun County
African American Community: How Much Did it Benefit from the 1990s
Economic Expansion," published in Jan. 2003; and "Pfizer
and Upjohn Pharmacia Merger: What are the Economic Consequences to the
Kalamazoo Area?" published May 2003.
Ronald Primeau, CMU Master of Arts in
Humanities program director, will have his book Herbert Woodward
Martin and the African American Tradition in Poetry published
in April.
Subarna Samanta, CMU adjunct faculty had
an article, "Cross Country Spillover Effects in Foreign Exchange Market:
An Empirical Analysis of Six OECD Countries," published in the
International Trade Journal vol. XVII, #2, Summer, 2003; and
"Effects of Exchange Rate Uncertainty in Mexican Foreign Trade"
published in The Multinational Business Review, vol. 11, #2, Fall
2003.
