Middle Level Endorsement

 

The young adolescent requires special attention. No longer a child, not yet a teenager… their lives are full of stresses that often follow them into the classroom.

 

21 credit hours

Central Michigan University Off-Campus Programs is now offering an 21 credit hour Middle Level Endorsement at our Livonia Center, 38695 Seven Mile Road, Suite 120 in Livonia, Michigan. The program is a planned series of seven courses addressing the challenges of teaching the middle level student:

 

  1. Young Adolescent Needs and Characteristics
  2. Concepts, Structures, and Programs for Middle Level Schools
  3. Student Diversity Issues in the Middle Level Classroom
  4. Issues in Meeting the Diverse Needs of Middle Level Learners
  5. Middle Level School Curriculum
  6. Secondary Advanced Reading Diagnosis and Instruction
  7. Field Experience in Middle Level Education

 

Compressed terms at our Livonia Center

Taught by instructors who are also seasoned teachers, each course is four weekends long, meeting from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Classes are taught at CMU’s Livonia Center, 38695 Seven Mile Road, Suite 120 in Livonia, Michigan just west of I-275.
