CMU Online Certificate Training Programs FAQ
Registration and Logistics
Where are courses held?
All certificate training courses are done completely online.
If I don’t have to go to a CMU Center, why are courses listed in the Consumer
Education Career Report (CECR) by center location?
The regional Michigan Works! agency requires that courses submitted for listing
in the CECR be done by geographic location as approvals are processed by local
Michigan Works! service centers.
What is the process for signing up for a course?
Go to cel.cmich.edu/miworks . Scroll down to the bottom
of the page and Step 2 will take you through a step-by-step guide on how to work
between your funding agency and Central Michigan University (CMU).
Do I need to go to Mt. Pleasant or any of the CMU Centers to complete paperwork
or register?
No, all paperwork including form completion and registration is done by e-mail,
fax, phone and online.
What happens after I am registered?
Ed2go will notify you directly via e-mail with your
access codes (i.e. username and password). You will receive course access within
1 – 4 business days from the date of your registration. Registration is delayed
if incorrect email addresses are given to CMU; be sure to provide the e-mail
address you want to use to access the course.
Note: Some Internet Service Providers have very high filters that delete
unrecognized e-mail messages or send them to "spam" or "junk" mail. It is
recommended that you add Ed2go’s e-mail address,
gatlin.support@cengage.com , to
your address book as a preventive step. If you find you still have problems
getting messages from Ed2go, you will want to contact your Internet Service
Provider (ISP)
What if I can’t access the course or have technical problems?
If you have any
access/technical problems, e-mail gatlin.support@cengage.com , or call
Ed2go at
817-870-2870. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00
p.m., CST.
