“Humber
Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning is currently hosting its 23rd
cohort of Central Michigan’s MA in Education-Community College
Administration. While these cohorts have welcomed many students from outside
Humber, they have served Humber staff extremely well. We have seen
participation from support staff, faculty and administration. These
employees have had their perspectives on education broadened, their
management skills honed and opportunities for advancement enhanced. Many of
these grads have taken on expanded roles at the college and/or have gone on
to further studies. CMU staff have worked closely with Humber liaisons to
deliver a highly relevant and unique professional development opportunity
for these employees. The flexibility of the capstone projects has allowed
each student to explore a topic of personal interest in depth. Many of these
projects have been connected to programs and services at the college and
provided direct benefit to the institution. ”
