One-Stop Blackboard Web Site

For some time CMU's Blackboard tutorials and guides have been housed among several different Information Technology, ProfEd and FACIT departmental Web sites which made the process of locating a particular resource a pretty cumbersome operation, at best. After reviewing the tutorials on the different sites, it was clear that the resources themselves were also in need of updating.

To resolve these issues, FACIT, ProfEd and Information Technology have collaboratively created a one-stop-Blackboard Web site, now active and available online at: www.cmich.edu/blackboard/home.asp.

The Web site contains an updated collection of faculty and student Blackboard-related tutorials, including text-based Adobe Acrobat documents with screenshots and frequently asked questions, as well as Flash-based videos, which allow users to watch and listen as each step of a task is demonstrated. Additional links provide background information about how Blackboard works at CMU, explaining the snapshot process, course identification, the Bb status page, support contacts and some of the benefits of using Blackboard.

The new site will be an ongoing project, updated with new tutorials and additional expanded resources useful to faculty and students alike. Be sure to bookmark the page and check back frequently to keep up-to-date on the newest Blackboard.

This monthly e-digest provides information that will assist you with a successful classroom experience. If you have any suggestions, comments, or questions, please contact frc@cmich.edu.
