Doctor of Health Administration
The Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) program provides a theory to
application approach to the study of topics and research that are critical to
executives and professionals who are leading healthcare organizations or
involved in health policy in the 21st Century.
As an application-based research
doctoral degree, this program builds on and expands the person’s knowledge,
abilities, and skills of healthcare through critically evaluating and analyzing
current and conceptual practices, strategies, and public policy initiatives that
add to the scholarly base of applied healthcare administration research. The use
of online delivery for the courses, combined with periodic face-to-face
intensive weekend seminars provides an effective yet flexible way to complete a
doctoral program.
The Doctor of Health Administration is taught primarily by
full-time faculty at Central Michigan University. However, there are teaching
opportunities within the College of Health Professions in the area of health
sciences. You can view current openings at the following website:
http://www.cel.cmich.edu/faculty/recruitment/job-posting-details.html In
addition, the program is always looking for qualified individuals to serve on
dissertation committees. The requirements are as follows:
- Earned doctoral degree in a relevant area related to healthcare (MD, DO, JD may be appropriate in some cases)
- Experience with conducting either quantitative or qualitative research
- Specific expertise relevant to healthcare
