Make a Difference Day at Central Michigan University Off-Campus Centers
CMU in Metro Detroit, MI
Various Metro Detroit locations will be holding ice cream social nights throughout July and August to promote both CMU fall classes and Make A Difference Day. New and gently used books will be collected to be donated to the Make A Difference Day Reading Event that is held in Mt. Pleasant in October. Boxes are also placed in the centers for book collection through September.
CMU in Atlanta, GA
CMU in Atlanta will be making a difference for two local schools on October
25, 2008 in honor of Make a Difference Day. The CMU centers in Metro Atlanta
will collect new and nearly new books for
K-5 to donate to the A. D. Williams Elementary School Library in the Atlanta
Public Schools system and the Clifton Elementary School Library in DeKalb
County in an effort to encourage reading the Metro Atlanta area.

CMU at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, NC
CMU at Seymour Johnson AFB will be supporting their local military base
library for the 2008 Make a Difference Day effort. The SJAFB library serves
three objectives: Mission of the Air Force, academic support and quality of
life for the base community.
• The majority of funding goes toward the mission of the Air Force and
academic/education Support; this leaves little funding for children's books
and fiction.
• CMU will be asking our students, staff and community to support this
effort by donating books for ages birth to young adult. Donation baskets
will be placed in all CMU classrooms on the Air Force Base starting
September 13 and continuing through October.

CMU at Fort Riley. KS
CMU at Fort Riley will be conducting a book drive during the month of October for the Fort Riley Child Development Centers on post. Three are in the process of being built so there will be a great need for books.

CMU in Hawaii will be collecting school supplies to donate to local schools and help out those students who cannot afford to purchase the supplies they need. If you have items to donate please drop them off at your local CMU Hawaii center.
