Tips to Know Before You Go
- You are about to embark on what could potentially be a life changing
experience. Be open minded, be ready to meet new people, and be yourself.
- Be prepared for ups and downs, you will miss your home, your family,
and your friends, but you will also make a new home, new family and new
friends in return.
- There are so many different ways to get involved and grow as a person,
seek them out and try new things, you will only benefit from it.
- Although you are working at Walt Disney World, you are still working.
This is a job and it will have it’s bad days, but it will also have it’s
good days. It is a lot of work. However, if you know and accept this
aspect going into the program, you will have a blast!
- Bring extra money, there are so many things to do around the Orlando
area, but most of them aren’t free.
- Bring extra luggage, it’s amazing what you can accumulate over your
experience, and you’ll want to take it all back home with you.
- Be ready to be independent. Most of you will be hundreds of miles from
anyone you have ever known, we guarantee you will grow up and become more
self-sufficient by the end of your experience.
- You can make this experience as good or as bad as you would like, the
program gives you the opportunity to get out of it whatever you choose to
put into it.
- Bring your culture with you! People want to know and learn about what
different traditions you and your family participates in. Be ready to
learn about others as well.
- Bring photos from home. Again, your new friends are going to want to
know all about you and where you are from, photos can only supplement
that.
- Bring cameras!! You are going to want to document your whole
experience!
- Florida does get cold. Bring some warm clothes for those months
between December and February, the nights will get chilly.
- You can buy just about everything you need in Orlando, however, you
may want to bring a favorite food if you think that it may not be
available in the U.S.A.
- Be prepared to learn. You are going to be working for one of the most
well known and powerful companies in the world. They know what they are
doing and you can only learn from their knowledge. This information and
experience will set you apart from others once your program is complete.
- Bring a lot of energy and a positive attitude, there is so much to do,
and it’s right at your fingertips!!
- Be ready to have FUN!!
