CMU is one of the leading universities in Michigan offering driver education classes. As long as you meet the qualifications of the program and complete the classes listed below, you will be on your way to becoming an approved driver training instructor!
You have a valid driver's license
You are at least 21 years of age
You have a personal driving record with less than six points, as assessed by the Secretary of State, for traffic convictions during the two years prior to filing an application for approval as a driver education instructor
If you teach in the public school system, you may need a valid teaching certificate
Driver Education courses must be taken in the following sequence: EDU 508TA, EDU 508TB, EDU 508TC, EDU 508TD.
